Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a skilled Buyer, Process Piping to join their client's team. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships within the process piping industry. Experience in inside sales is a plus, offering a customer-centric perspective to procurement.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for issuing subcontracts, equipment POs, and/or material POs within the proper programs (JDE, IFS, GP, etc.).
- Review invoices, verify prices against POs and backup documentation, and input costs in proper programs.
- Process POs and change orders within required systems.
- Negotiate with vendors for equipment and day-to-day purchases to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
- Focus on vendor follow-ups to ensure timely delivery of all items.
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and assist all ACCO personnel as required, maintaining a good working relationship.
- Maintain and update authorized vendor lists for field and sales personnel.
- Stay informed about vendor offerings, price trends, and hard-to-find parts from different vendors.
- Handle all warranty items and manage warranty tags.
- Manage all core credits from vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of local manufacturer's representatives and dealers, especially those specializing in process piping.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a related position or industry.
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent; college courses in Business, Economics, or Management preferred.
- Proficiency in Invoice Processing & Finvari Support or related systems within the first 4 weeks.
- Working knowledge of HVAC parts and equipment required.
- Knowledge of local contractors, including electrical, general, and crane.
- Accuracy and detail-oriented approach to data entry.
- Proficient-plus level user of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills, both over the phone and in person.
- Strong business writing skills, including proper grammar and terminology.
- High customer service skills.
- Ability to organize large amounts of information while maintaining attention to detail.
Required Work Hours
This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM as scheduled with the position's supervisor. Occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.
Benefits
Competitive wages ranging from $65,000 to $97,181 annually.
Additional Details
Travel is minimal, with 0-5% of the time required to and from the primary office to regional branch offices.
